Katia Poulin, painter

Katia Poulin was born in 1971 and currently lives in Baie-St-Paul.

After completing her college studies at Cégep de Sainte-Foy, she worked as a full-time painter.

Katia Poulin's painting reflects her sensitivity. Her works, usually inspired by dreams, symbolize femininity, nostalgia or love. The canvas, approached without preconceived ideas and open to all forms of expression, is delivered to the heart's desire. Form and emotion combine perfectly to bring out a work where spontaneity and authenticity coexist. Elegant and slender characters are sometimes discreet, sometimes more contrasting; these do not invade the scene, but blend with it. These silhouettes enhanced with a very shiny glaze produce effects of shine and dissimilarity between the materials used. The textures and chromatic choices are sober and harmonious, constituting a well-balanced work. The predominance of the atmosphere is easily felt by the spectator who is quickly challenged by the candor that emerges. Katia Poulin's universe is limitless and overflowing with creativity. It is not surprising to see such enthusiasm among amateurs and collectors for the work of this artist.
