14 galleries filled with treasures to discover

From dream to reality - Beauchamp Art Galleries were born from a lover's dream.

At the beginning of the 90s, Claudette and Marc Beauchamp cherished the dream of opening an art gallery. However, the economic situation discourages this type of initiative, with several well-established galleries being forced to cease their activities. Never mind ! Claudette and Marc went ahead and opened, in 1993 , the Royal Art Gallery , located at 53, rue Saint-Pierre, at the corner of the Côte de la Montagne, the oldest coast in Quebec City. Armed with formidable business acumen and a remarkable taste for works of art, the couple gave free rein to their love for the paintings of Quebec artists. Over the months, the young gallery takes on the appearance of a small museum and more and more passers-by pass through its doors to delight in the beauty of the works on display.

The Beauchamp family: a family quartet nourished by a common passion, the promotion of beauty.

Sophie and Vincent, Claudette and Marc's two children, share their parents' enthusiasm for visual art and, one thing leading to another, gain experience in choosing works of art. A few years later, the premises began to be a little too cramped to accommodate all the works that the Beauchamp family wanted to promote and the acquisition of additional space was necessary.

Passion for beauty - A family affair

A business association is then forged between parents and children, a partnership in which each member of the family will become the owner of their own gallery. What was originally a duo of lovers is today a family quartet nourished by a common passion: the promotion of beauty.

Bel Art, Beauchamp and Beauchamp

Five years have passed since the opening of the Royal Art Gallery, during which time the partners have already proceeded to establish two other galleries: Bel Art and Beauchamp and Beauchamp .

Located side by side, between Saint-Pierre and Sault-au-Matelot streets, and arranged on three levels, the Bel Art and Beauchamp and Beauchamp galleries occupy a heritage building whose construction dates back to 1647. The visitor who passes through the doors of these new galleries is immediately won over by a bold architectural style combining the classic charm of old stones and the resolutely contemporary tone of the interior design.

The reference in the world of art galleries

As for the works, they abound in a joyful anarchy skillfully staged by the gallery owners. Thus was born the Beauchamp signature, which will soon become a true reference in the world of art galleries.

Beauchamp Family Foundation Fund

Creation and childhood form two inseparable universes. At the origin of artistic creation, there is always a child who chooses to remake the world in his own way. Sometimes, poverty interferes in the picture and can go so far as to slow down the most promising hopes.

“I am two things that cannot be ridiculous: a savage and a child.” - Paul Gauguin

In order to help children and support groups that support people in need, the Beauchamp family established the Beauchamp Family Foundation Fund in 2008 . A network between artists and the Beauchamp Art Galleries makes it possible to raise sums of money through special events and the generosity of several of our artists who graciously offer a painting of which the entire proceeds of the sale are paid to the Beauchamp Family Foundation. In addition, at each exhibition, a portion of the sums generated by them is donated by the Beauchamp Art Galleries to the Foundation. You buy happiness, you offer happiness
