Nemo, painter

Victor Colesnicenco was born in 1968 in Chisinau, capital of Moldova, land of vineyards, forests, fields and lakes.

He spent his childhood in a small village with his grandfather and it was at this time that his attraction to the arts developed. He later enrolled at the Moscow People University of Art and graduated from the fine arts department there.

Influenced by his childhood memories, Nemo paints works reflecting different places in his environment. It was in 1987 that he held his first solo exhibition in Moldova, where he received fervent reactions from both critics and art lovers. Then, he participated in the Moscow International Exhibition where he received the distinction of best painter of the event. Since that time, Nemo has worked in different styles such as surrealism and impressionism.

From now on, it is his travels that become a source of inspiration. Constantly searching for subjects that reflect the heart and soul of the places visited, the artist combines his findings into a happy artistic ballet which takes the form of elaborate compositions mixing graphics, collage, lacquer, painting and drawing. Having recently discovered fabulous landscapes in Italy, France, Moldova, the United States and Canada, his latest productions are inevitably imbued with them and several of them have been presented in some of the biggest artistic events in Atlanta , New York and Toronto. His works are now part of several collections around the world.
