Technique: Oil

James Gaubert was born in 1942, in Beauce, France.

He began painting very young and presented his first exhibition at the age of 13. From 1960 to 1967, he participated in the creation of the Atelier de l'école de Rouen, in France. Then, in 1970, he began exhibiting in the United States. Sometimes working with a spatula, sometimes with a brush, Gaubert paints scenes of Old Quebec with warm atmospheres. His paintings, with nuanced tones, seduce with their refined texture and balanced composition.
