Technique: Acrylic, oil and encaustic
Joseph Capicotto is a graduate of York University in Toronto. Today specializing in frescoes and portraits, he is currently enjoying immense success. Having developed and refined a diversity of styles ranging from classical to abstract, Capicotto's painting is filled with social messages and symbolism. He paints what he loves and has perfect mastery of his subjects, particularly the human body.
His work focuses on the form which he distorts to bring out its beauty. Capicotto recently introduced a series of landscapes to his repertoire which reveal a great sensitivity to color and texture. His subjects contribute to forming happy harmonies of tones and shapes creating atmospheres of sensitivity and lightness in all his paintings. His works can be found in several private and corporate collections.
