Marie-Claude Demers was born in Drummondville in 1970. She currently resides in Inverness.

Demers studied and earned her Bachelors degree in psychology from the University of Québec in Trois-Rivières. Furthermore, in 2002 she trained in a bronze foundry in Guadalajara, Mexico.

Marie-Claude Demers sculptural work is inspired by children’s stories. They depict people, animals and playful fantasies. Her first pieces were created in her studio in Inverness, a small village in central Québec. Demers art practice also focuses around drawing and painting, these mediums provide the basis for her sculptural works. She begins her sculptures by working with clay. Demers creates a wax moulds from the clay, using the mould she produces the final bronze piece. Marie-Claude Demers work is detail-oriented and time-consuming, as a dedicated artist she sees the realization of her work from start to finish.

Demers has exhibited her works on numerous occasions in Canada, the United States, Spain and Ecuador.
