Veilleux, Kim

Veilleux, Kim

Medium : oil

Kim was born in Quebec, in 1974. She presently lives in Charny, on the South shore of Quebec.

Kim was amongst the lucky children whose parents believed in artistic expression and freedom of thought. They therefore enabled and encouraged Kim to express her artistic endeavours.

Between music and Art, painting was Kim’ s favourite. It was this interest that brought her to study in graphic design at Saint-Foy College. Afterwards, Kim actually worked in this field till 2007. However, her need for freedom brought her to explore and perfect her techniques in oil painting. She therefore took oil painting lessons from 2000 to 2002. Her first exhibitions were held in Levis.

Today, she dedicates herself entirely to her Art. The countryside is her main source of inspiration with its adorable little sheep, young couples in Love, or little girls and boys having fun. In her paintings, she likes to play with human proportions and with contrasting colours. Making her subjects even more lovable, almost huggable…

Her artistic path well reflects her peaceful childhood for she paints on instinct, as do children. Her passion and love for life co-exist in perfect unison in her paintings and easily charm those who admire her work.

Kim is inspired by her childhood memories but also by the stories she now reads aloud to her own children. To contemplate one of Kim’ s paintings is like offering oneself a moment of peace where time stops for an instant and one is overwhelmed by the simple pleasures of Life.
