Born: St-Romuald, Quebec in 1971, he now resides in Levis, Quebec.

Francois Samson suggests art pieces that are highly textured and rugged. His self-made canvases are often pulled inwards, revealing various objects that seem to be hidden or embedded in the walls of the wooden frame of the canvas.

Through this abstract universe, his rich, organic colour palette transcends the light that lies beyond the objects drawn on his canvas. A light that is almost ethereal, subtle, and vague, will capture the attention of all those who admire his work. Samson also likes to texture his canvas with various dimensional mediums.

Samson transfers his emotions onto his canvas by using the artistic language of texture, shape, and colour. Through these elements, creates a successful combination of both the art of drawing and that of sculpting. With these two facets of expression, he is able to render a unique piece of art. Samson exhibits his work in many galleries throughout Canada, the USA, and Europe.
