Born at Trois-Rivières, she now resides in Baie-du-Febvre, Québec.

Sabrina has experimented in various outlets of the arts, including the theatre, costume design and painting before finding her life passion in sculpting with metal. In an attempt to give an effect of movement to her canvases she created a frame composed of metal wire, the effect was a revelation and ignited her creative flame.  This discovery paved the way for a series of new ideas all focused on sculpting using wire.

In the beginning, her recent discovery of this art medium inspired Ms. Rheaume to create jewelery representing organic, sculptural forms. She then married her love of semi-precious stones and put this love to good use by inserting stones held together with knitted wires in her creations. Her passion and dedication to this new art form lead to the creation of numerous pieces all singular in their originality and confirmed her destiny to become a professional sculptress.

She has created numerous works, varied in size and style, all using wire construction in three dimensional form allowing for even more original visions and applications. Her use of wire as an artistic medium causes one to stop and admire the final result of liveliness: Inspiration she draws from our natural world.

Fertile in her imagination, Sabrina amuses herself in the use of contrasting materials to convey a message of lightness or of strength depending of the subject at hand. She presents an evolution in her work by taking in consideration the rust and oxidation developed by metals over time, adding to the living, organic feeling so important to her message. That message being forwarded puts into perspective the different aging properties of each type of metal whether it be the green hues of oxidized copper or the browns of rusting iron and the darkening shades of aluminum. These are all are part of Ms. Rheaume’s views of life in its growth and inception.
