Joro was born in 1960 in the small town of Tchiprovtzi, Bulgaria.

Renowned for its unique style of carpet design, Tchiprovtzi has distinguished itself being the home of many fine artists.

In 1973, already determined to make his mark as an artist, Joro moved to Sophia, Bulgaria, where he attended the prestigious Illia Petrov School of Fine Arts. In 1981, his studies completed in his previous school, Joro enrolled at the Nicholai Pavlovich Academy of Arts. Here he concentrated on various printmaking techniques and graduated in 1986.

Upon graduating, Joro accepted a general art teaching position at Petar Parchevich high school in Sophia. He continued in this venue until 1991. Upon his retirement from teaching, he decided to dedicate his time entirely to his artistic career.

In 1992, Joro immigrated to Toronto, Canada ,where he continues to follow his artistic tendencies, producing many fine originals on canvas and an array of delightful high quality etchings.
