For Patrick Pépin, Art and Life are inseparable. Thus, his artistic journey reflects this philosophy.

Patrick Pepin is another talented artist that the Beauchamp Art Galleries have added to their long list of valued painters. This man is a “globe-trotter” who has managed to associate both of his passions; that of painting and that of travelling. His many journeys across the globe to faraway places most people have never visited, are his source of inspiration. He paints with his heart and soul. Through both his travels and his paintings, he risks the unknown, leaving all to chance and fate.

His paintings reflect both liberty and spontaneity, which represent Patrick Pépin’ s triggers to his artistic endeavours. His paintings will often represent his unconscious state of mind, or recessed fears and pains he might have once felt. Pépin’s creations are uncalculated and free of preconceived judgments. His paintings are created without any interruptions or touch-ups. Pépin is guided only by spontaneous gesture as well as irreversible and spur of the moment decisions.

Through his paintings, Pépin tries to explain the link that rests between the art of painting and the passion for travelling. To Pépin, one must step out of accustomed territories to search for the unknown. One must learn to make ties with those that are different from what is known. The most amazing events happen when one is confronted by chance, this being applicable to art as well.
