Marion, Louise

Marion, Louise

Medium : oil and acrylic

Louise Marion was born in Joliette in Quebec. From early childhood, Louise Marion has been drawn to art. Oil paint has always been her favourite means of expression.

It is with unrestrained passion that Louise Marion decided to undertake this wonderful adventure and dedicate herself entirely to art. Her heart and soul are transposed into her paintings, reflecting her strong will and energy. Being vivacious and adventurous, Louise Marion likes to paint with vibrant, audacious colours. She is mainly inspired by what surrounds her. This explains why her paintings reflect outdoor scenes of everyday life. People having lunch at a nearby café, having coffee at a terrace, someone walking their dog, children playing in the street while grandma is watching from her balcony, or two lovers having a glass of wine. Louise Marion likes to capture the essence of living in the Old Quebec, while bringing forth its architectural treasures; the tall, narrow houses of Quebec with their steep, spiral staircases; small balconies with abundant flower boxes; cobblestone streets, etc.

Louise likes to share her world with those around her. Painting is her means of telling a story; her life story.

Since 1996, she has participated in many art shows. She has also been involved in many solo and group exhibitions. In May 2009, she, as well as six other Quebec artists, were invited to participate in an art show named ‘ Couleurs de Bretagne’. Her paintings are currently exhibited in art galleries throughout Quebec, the United States, and Europe.
