Medium : Metal Sculpture

Niso Maman was born in Israel in 1957 and now works in Florida.

A Niso Maman sculpture can be recognised for its signature forms made with the most unique of metal materials, whether it be nails, washers, bolts and coins.

Created in a manner and form reminiscent of Greek and Roman art depicting human torsos they convey the energy and materials of modern times. From an early age and having travelled extensively throughout Europe and its cultural capitals, such as Paris, Florence, Rome and Amsterdam, Niso learned to experiment with different materials and techniques such as mosaic tiles and ceramics that were popular in these cities.

In the late seventies he opened his first art studio under the guidance of the Haifa University Art Department, while still in high school! His reputation gradually grew quite rapidly in Tel Aviv and found success among his many patrons.

Niso Maman opened his Florida studio and foundry in 1982 to begin work on bronze sculpture. He quickly began to use marble, onyx, as well as bronze and steel for his compositions. He is still at this location and he is both producing and teaching art to a growing number of admirers and followers of his work.

Niso Maman’s works can be found in the most exclusive private and public collections throughout the world, as well as many of his public works can be found in numerous sculpture parks in the United States.
