LaRoche, Andrée

LaRoche, Andrée

Born in 1959 in Quebec City, Andrée LaRoche has always been creative at heart. During her early years, she often escaped to an imaginary world filled with love and harmony. This outlook on life led her to imagine the most beautiful stories.

Throughout her career, Andrée worked in several areas of sales and communications, and even founded an advertising company. After selling it, she decided to take a sabbatical year, and painting became her new passion. Her entrepreneurial side and the desire to share her devotion led her to open her own art gallery in Sainte-Flavie, at the “doors of the Gaspé Peninsula”, in 2003. The artistic ambiance of the area welcomed the gallery with open arms, and it quickly became a great place to visit. Collectors of all kinds began to discover her and acquire her paintings. From the very first year, it was a complete success! She operated the gallery until 2007, and then returned to her hometown. The cultural life of Quebec City stimulates and inspires her, and her art is greatly enhanced by her surroundings.

The paintings of Andrée LaRoche are filled with life, energy and freedom, just like the artist herself. For the artist, painting is seen and created with the heart. In each of her canvases, the strength, energy and freedom that emerge from her paintings give them a signature all their own. Her large format, acrylic artworks challenge our senses and our emotions with their rhythm, movement and vibrancy.
