Kelk, Brian

Medium : glass

Born in 1957.

Brian Kelk spent the first 17 years of his life on the family farm outside of Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. In 1976, he moved to Calgary. He is a self-taught sculptor who works with wood, clay and stained glass. Brian, as a result, earned himself a place in the Alberta College of Art and Design's Hot Glass program. He studied there from 1989 to 1994.

"I face the same challenges as everyone else; time, and the lack of it. That's why it's increasingly important to me that I pursue and perfect my sculptural abilities. The ability to transform my imagination into reality is a gift that I'm truly thankful for. The satisfaction I get from people who enjoy my work is truly the heartbeat of my creations."

Brian's "Hot Shop" studio is located on a college campus in Alberta. He has an established customer base with his works found in some of the best Canadian art galleries. His works are found in private, corporate, and government collections.
