Kathy Tardif was born in 1975 in St-Christophe d’Arthabaska in Quebec.

Early in her childhood, Kathy Tardif was attracted to art. She studied interior design at the Riviere-du-Loup College, and later, massage therapy.

Kathy Tardif is a self-taught artist. She discovered her passion for painting in 2007 and since then, her passion for painting has never ceased to grow. Today, she dedicates most of her time to painting.

As Kardif is concerned, bringing forth sensuality in her work is very important. This is why she paints mostly with her hands. To be in direct contact with the mediums she uses is, for Kardif, a necessity.

When Kardif begins a painting, she starts with no particular objective. Kardif lets herself be guided by spontaneous gestures. Her artistic endeavours resemble a trip to the unknown, an adventure that always brings about wonderful surprises. Kardif also likes to scribble writing on her painting, adding a touch of mystery. A thick layer of paste adds richness in texture to her canvases. The final result is an intriguing landscape, filled with sensuality and mystery.

In 2010, Kardif won first prize in visual art for the ‘Salon des arts des Bois-Franc’. She has also participated in many other group expositions such as; ‘La Fenetre sur l’Art’ of Chesterville; and the cultural fair of Princeville. Throughout these past years, Kardif has won many prizes for the paintings she has created. Many paintings signed by Kathy Tardif may be found in private collections throughout Canada, the United States, and internationally as well.
