As a young boy, Chris was very interested in the visual arts. Constantly painting, sculpting, drawing and building things he was encouraged by his family to pursue his passion and enrolled in the Fine Arts department at Jackson State University in Florida.

Following an abstract art movement which was at once both cerebral and emotional, he began a very intuitive style in form and figures quite free from reality. Following these experiences, his work began to take form with an emphasis on order in contrast to the chaos expressed in his previous creations. Mr. Hill describes his creative evolution similar to a choreographer searching for balance in dance. His vision of balance is expressed by the use of harmonious colours and textures. Through the use of “modular” works, namely a series of paintings all the same size that can be interchanged to create a series of original compositions. This truly confirms art in its most original and creative form.

Chris Hill has participated in a number of expositions, both in the U.S.A. and in the U.K. He is also represented in many galleries in Florida and his work has been acquired by many private collectors in both Canada and the U.S.A.
