Born on June 7, 1952.
Hebert lived in Laval and studied Art at the Cégep du Vieux-Montréal in the 1970's. Following these studies, Jacques had a successful career in business before returning to art in 1998.
In 2002, Jacques Philippe Hébert won an award as "New Artist Worth Following" at the Montreal International Autumn Salon of Fine Arts. In spring 2003, his first solo exhibition was a great success. This search led Jacques Philippe Hébert to notice an inevitable evolution in his work and allowed him to develop and perfect a unique technique in self-expression.
While traveling in Italy, Jacques Philippe Hébert was marvelled at the skills of stained and blown glass artisans and at their ability to create depth in color. He began to wonder how he could integrate these characteristics to his work. This marked a tremendous turning point in his life. Consumed with obsession, Hebert spent a few years formulating different methods to incorporate glass on canvas.
Today, Jacques Philippe Hebert is considered a pioneering force within a singular style. Hebert has perfected a unique technique with a universal appeal which paves the way into a new era. His art radiates confidence, passion and sensitivity. It is a true celebration of human emotions, of excitement and warmth, of anticipation and mystery.
