Faubert, Nathalie

Medium : mixed media

Born in 1968 in Montpellier (region of the “Petite-Nation” in Outaouais).

She still spends her summers in Montpellier but during the rest of the year, she lives at L’ Assomption, the South Shore of Lanaudiere.

Nathalie Faubert began to paint in 1993 after the birth of her daughter . Firstly, she began exploring “Naïve Art” and gradually went towards a more abstract form of expression.

Her present style is one very much influenced by neo-expressionism. Her creations behold very textured motifs with a wide range of luminous colours that transmit or provoke passionate emotions.

The themes for her creations are often based on the paradoxes of life. She is very inspired by those who are in opposition to one another. For example: simplicity versus what is complicated; fear versus rebellion; softness versus violence; serenity versus anxiety.
