Born in the city of Tacna in Peru, Eugenio is a very promising young Peruvian artist.

Eugenio Cohalia studied at the Beaux-Arts Superior School of Tacna, where he graduated with high honours in painting. He has also achieved superior studies at l’École des beaux-arts in Lima, Peru.

Cohalia paints urban scenes in which the people within the painting seem somewhat blurred compared to the cityscape. His compositions are filled with luminous touches of vivid colour that reflect the artists fascination towards city life.

There is a spectacular interaction between light and movement found in his paintings.

Cohalia is in his mid-twenties and he has already participated in at least 30 exhibitions. To mention but a few, he participated in prestigious salons such as The Municipalidad de Tacna, The embassy of the U.S and The Banco Continental Gallery.

Cohalia also received 1st place at the urban mural contest of Tacna. He also received honours at the Quinto Lazo contest held in Tacna, as well as in the contest organized by Michel & Cia.
