Des Jardins, Renée

Des Jardins, Renée

Medium : mixed media

Born in Quebec City.

Coming from a family of artists, Renee developed her artistic sense at a very young age. Her intense research, the long hours spent practicing her drawing skills, her art workshops with re-known artists, has enabled Des Jardins to perfect her art. She is now seen as a reputed artist. Furthermore, she has won many prizes and distinctions, and has been selected by her peers as being an artist with undeniable talent.

The harmony of colours as well as the texture found in Des Jardins’ pieces reflect her free spirit and spontaneity. By using acrylic, oil, and gold leaf she gives each medium its unique expression.

Des Jardins’ work distinguishes itself by the use of classical subjects such as nudes, horses, sailboats, and flowers. Even though Des Jardins favours horses, her other subjects also reflect her passions. She combines grace, strength, and sensuality in all of her pieces. Amongst the masters who most influence her work are Degas, Klaus, and Ascensio
