Born in Montréal in 1966

Danielle Champoux obtained a certificate in art during her studies at Cégep Édouard Montpetit. Once Champoux completed her formal education she continued her training through apprenticeships with experienced artists. During her time as an apprentice Champoux discovered that she was her own mentor. That her works should reflect her own psyche and personality as opposed to others. From this observation, Champoux began scattering her works with vibrant colours that come from both energy and excitement. In her works shapes and textures are made from various materials cleverly amalgamated together to create original works, addressing current topics.

This combination reflects an interesting message that honours each piece inspired by the evocative title. Since 1981, the artist has been involved in several group exhibitions in Québec.
