Carney, Lisa

Carney, Lisa

Born in Canada in 1970, Lisa Carney is a painter from the Gaspé Peninsula in Quebec. Today she lives and works in Ste-Anne-Des-Plaines, she is a member of several arts organizations such as the Conseil de la Culture of the Laurentians and the Regroupement des Artistes en arts visuels in Québec.

Growing up in a family of artists, Lisa has been creating from a very young age and graduated with a degree in visual arts from the University of Quebec in Montreal. She is known for her mastery of many different techniques and a variety of mediums. She has experimented with music as well as pictorial creation and has fully devoted herself to abstract painting in recent years.

Lisa Carney's artistic research is inspired by her love for our planet. She admits to being heavily influenced by the landscapes of her childhood and wants to move away from the conventional landscape and plunge the viewer into an unusual world. She paints in acrylic with an energizing color palette and uses the dripping techniques to suggest plant life and foliage while creating a harmony between textures and colors.

Lisa Carney has exhibited extensively in Canada, the United States and France. Her works are among many private and corporate collections, including the Thérèse-De-Blainville Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Her works have appeared in numerous publications and books and have received several awards.
