Archambault, Luc

Medium : oil, ink, mixed media
Born in Sainte-Catherine-de-la-Jacques-Cartier, near Quebec City, in 1954.
Luc Archambault is a self-taught artist who has been interested in art and architecture since childhood.
At eleven years old, Archambault spent one year in France. This trip is one that will influence all of his artistic career, particularly the Gothic Cathedral of Strasbourg with its stained glass.
Back in Quebec City, Archambault attended the art workshops of the "Petit Séminaire de Québec" from 1966 to 1973. Here, he was initiated and encouraged by l'Abbé Lucien Godbout to experiment with classical art techniques.
Since his graduation in 1973, he has participated in over 132 collective art expositions and has over 72 individual expositions to come by. Moreover, he has presented over 40 public art performances in Quebec, Montreal, Avignon, Toronto, and Ottawa.
His inspiration is triggered mostly by mythology, literature, music, and dance. Archambault's works evoke Man's mutations, quests, and transformations through Time. It was said by Lucie Bédard, a journalist of the Soleil newspaper, that Archambault has obtained the ease and a surprising liberty which most artists achieve only through years of observation and practice.
