Born in San Bernardino, California in 1971

After spending part of his childhood in California, Craig Alan and his family moved to New Orleans. His new home bordered by the sea and blessed with rich culture left its mark on the young man. Stimulated by his new environment, Alan felt a strong creative impulse that inspired him to explore various avenues and artistic techniques.

Aware of his talent, Craig Alan enrolled at the University of Alabama, where he studied art and began his career. During Alan's studies he was rewarded for academic excellence when forty-two of his works were part of the final selection for the most prestigious exhibition held at the university. The originality of Alan's work at both conceptual and technical level confirms his talent. His works are made initially from images worked numerically and mounted on a wooden support. The shades within Alan's works are created using a multitude of figures in motion leaving behind an interesting chiaroscuro effect. Variations in the colours of characters, shapes and sizes offer very unique pieces. Each work is finished by applying two coats of lacquer.

The artist's style ranges from abstract expressionism to graphic realism, each a unique reflection of the creator. Craig Alan's prolific career is the result of all his artistic skills associated with his innate sense of aesthetics.
